Noida, 30th October: Speaking at a Seminar on “Pollution and Health Hazards” on Friday, Cardiologist Dr. Anand Kumar Pandey warned that air pollution is a much bigger menace than Covid-19 as it is causing 30% of the total deaths in India. “About 2.5 million people die due to air pollution every year, which is far greater than the number of people who die due to Covid,” he said.

Dr. Pandey also talked about a report by WHO which says that air pollution, on an average, reduces the life expectancy by 2.2 years. “WHO also issued a public warning in July 2020 saying that the poor air quality is greatest risk to human health, and it is not only outdoor air pollution, indoor air pollution is as deadly as outdoor air pollution.”

Dr. Awana further quoted Indian NSA’s concern about deliberate weaponization of dangerous pathogens. “Covid has been a biological war, and we might face more such catastrophe in coming years. To counter this, we need very strong technical solutions.” Dr. Awana, who is a Corporate Advisor (Medical) of REPL, said that their air purification system, sold under the brand name of PetriMed CA, is one such highly technical solution which offers 99.99999% purification.

In his address, Gautam Buddh Nagar MP Dr. Mahesh Sharma said that Covid taught us the value of oxygen and air purification system. He talked about the trouble he faced when his oxygen saturated level went down below 90 after he was infected with Covid.

Dr. Sharma further praised Petrimed CA’s air purification system for offering high air purity in comparison to medical oxygen and industrial oxygen.
