New Delhi, 05th July 2023: On Wednesday, the Delhi High Court granted leasing companies access to aircraft leased to Go First for “inspection of their fleet and carrying out engine and other maintenance work as required.”

In an interim order issued by Justice Tara Vista Ganju, the court directed the aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and relevant airport authorities to allow lessors to inspect and perform all interim maintenance tasks on all 30 aircraft within three days of today and at least twice a month.

Go First’s lessors have asked the DGCA to deregister their planes so they can reclaim them from the airline. On May 10, the aircraft was declared bankrupt.

The court also barred Go Air and the NCLT-appointed resolution expert from moving, dismantling, or replacing any part of the aircraft without obtaining the lessors’ authorisation.

The court also stated that there was no denying that the lessors’ aircraft were exceedingly valuable and sophisticated, requiring constant maintenance.
