Expert talk on “Geo-Informatics & Laser Based Remote Sensing” organised at I.T.S. Engineering College, Greater Noida

Greater Noida (10/4/2019) : The Civil Engineering department of I.T.S. Engineering College, Greater Noida organized the Guest lecture on “Geo-Informatics& laser-based remote sensing” on April 10th,2019. Dr. Amitanshu Pattanaik, Senior Scientist, DRDO, Ministry of Defence, Govt of India, was the speaker. He enlightened the students about the recent development in the civil engineering field and also explained the role of GIS and remote sensing in fthe ield of civil engineering.
A large number of students participated in the event. The program started at 03:00 pm in the presence of Dr. Sanjay Yadav, H.O.D and faculties of Civil Engineering Department. The bouquet of plant was presented by Dr. Sanjay Yadav, H.O.D, to the speaker.Dr. Amitanshu Pattanaik. Dr. Pattanaik explained many DRDO products that are used for civil engineering projects to the students.
Later he showed how GIS software’s can be used in Disaster Management, natural resource monitoring etc. He enlightened the students on what are the career options for civil engineers in DRDO and outside world. He also encouraged many third year students to join DRDO for Industrial Training. The talk was a very interactive and Enlightening session for the students as well as faculties. Finally, the event concluded at 04:40pm, By the vote of thanks.
