HOME EXPO 2015 CLOSES TODAY WITH ESTIMATED BUSINESS ENQUIRIES WORTH RS. 746 CRORES & VISIT OF 1019 OVERSEAS BUYERS

The 4th edition of Home Expo India – the mega triple show organized by Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts closed today with an impressive 1019 and their representatives visitors from 88 countries who interacted with over 500 exhibitors including mart owners.

Mr. Rakesh Kumar, Executive Director, EPCH said, “Based upon feedback received, the show has been very successful with business enquiries worth Rs. 746 crores Home Expo India 2015 is expected to generate multi level business opportunities including direct import as well as tie- ups, collaborations, alliances and joint ventures for product development, product innovation and International sales.

Home Expo India exhibitors negotiated business with some of the most well-known overseas companies like: Pier 1 Imports, Wayfair LLC, Utter Most Co., Kalalou Inc, C&F Enterprises Inc. (all from USA), Petti Rossi Ltd, Furniture Link, Roost Furnishings Ltd. (all from UK), Edelman BV and Edelman BV from The Netherlands, Atlas GMBH, Kaufmann Handel segeselischaft, Sweet Home Koblenz from Germany, The Limit Ltd., New Zealand, Atelier Design Furniture, Australia, Al Diwan Center, Kuwait, Lonlo and Fukuda Corporation from Japan, Trendsinter Sa DE CV and Sucomex International SA DE CV from Mexico, Present Time, Hong Kong and Home Box LLC, UAE.

Exhibitors also confirmed that this edition of the show was particularly impressive. According to Mr. Ganesh Ranga of M/s Latiyal Handicrafts Pvt. Ltd., Jodhpur a leading exporter of Furniture items congratulated EPCH for having done an impressive job through the show.

The thematic pavilions to promote Art and Craft of North Eastern as well as other States under the aegis ofDevelopment Commissioner Handicrafts along with the initiative to promote artisanal products of craftsperson of SC category and those from mega clusters of Lucknow, Bareilly and Bhuj were the novelties of this year’s show attracting much attention of the visiting buyers.

Handicraft export has been growing at an average annual growth rate of 15% during the last decade. However, growth during the current year was 18.05% in rupee terms and 16.81%% in dollars terms as compared to previous year. Exports of handicrafts during the year 2014-15 was Rs. 27,746.84 crore, informed Mr. Rakesh Kumar, Executive Director – EPCH.
