Noida Authority to turn Noida stadium into a makeshift Covid hospital
Noida, 29th April: Amid the rise in Covid cases and shortage of oxygen beds in the city, the Noida Authority has decided to turn the Sector 21A based Noida stadium into a 50-bed makeshift Covid hospital.
This makeshift hospital is likely to serve the Covid patients from 8th May onwards. The staff for this hospital will be provided by the Delhi-based NGO DFY (Doctors For You).
In a statement, the Noida Authority said that it also plans to set up a PSA based oxygen manufacturing plant, in the stadium, with availability of 50 oxygen beds, cylinders and ventilators.
The Covid hospital and the plant is being built with the help of NGOs and private companies including the Adani Group.
On Wednesday, the Gautam Buddh Nagar district recorded 903 new Covid cases along with with 12 deaths, and the number of active cases breached 7,000 mark in the district.
