GREATER NOIDA News (15 November 2025): In an atmosphere filled with excitement, color, and youthful energy, St. Joseph’s School, Greater Noida celebrated its Annual Sports Day 2025 on Saturday. The sprawling school grounds transformed into a vibrant arena where students from Classes III to XII showcased their athletic strength, agility, teamwork, and dedication. This year’s Sports Day became even more memorable with the presence of two distinguished personalities—

Chief Guest Ajay Kumar (IPS) delivered a powerful keynote speech, focusing on how sports contribute to personality development beyond medals and victories. He said, Energy does not come only from what we eat—it also comes from the people we surround ourselves with. Standing among young students, I feel an immense wave of positivity.

Emphasizing the values sports instill, he added: Sports teach humility after winning and courage after defeat. These values stay with us lifelong, shaping us into responsible citizens and compassionate human beings. He took a moment to praise Olympian Sakshi Malik, describing her as “a national icon who embodies hard work, willpower, and the spirit of India.”

He concluded by applauding the school’s efforts in cultivating a strong sporting culture: The discipline, energy, and talent I have witnessed today reflect the school’s commitment to excellence.

Sakshi Malik’s Motivational Speech Accentuates the Need for Early Sports Exposure

The highlight of the event was the deeply motivational and heartfelt address by Olympic medallist Sakshi Malik, whose words resonated with students, teachers, and parents alike.

She encouraged the students with her personal story: I started my journey in a small wrestling hall, participating in school-level competitions. Every small medal I won boosted my confidence. These tiny victories eventually took me to the Olympic podium.

Stressing the importance of early exposure, she said, If India wants more international medals, we must connect our children to sports from a very young age. Schools are the foundation of every athlete’s journey.

Encouraging parents, she shared a powerful message: Good things take time. If your child doesn’t show immediate results, don’t lose faith. Stand with them. My own journey took 12 years of hard work. My family believed in me even when society questioned my choices. Her speech drew loud applause and left many parents emotional and inspired.

In his welcome and closing remarks, Principal Fr. Jipson Palatty highlighted the philosophy of St. Joseph’s School—academic excellence combined with physical fitness and moral values.
