Business Wire IndiaFor the month of May, 2016, JN Port handled 3, 87,335 TEUs, leading to 4.7 % increase over April 2016. With respect to May 2015 there was an increase of 2.5% and 1.3% increase of YoY performance.
Port owned Container Terminal (JNPCT) handled 1, 33,172 TEUs, which is very close to last month’s throughput of 1, 33,208 TEUs which was the highest performance of JNPCT since the inception of the terminal. JNPCT registered an increase of 17% in comparison to May 2015 and 25% increase of YoY performance. In terms of productivity parameters, the pre berthing waiting period (on port a/c) decreased to 0.05 days in May 16 from 0.43 days in the month of April 16 and average pre berthing waiting time of 0.16 days in financial year 2015-16.The gross berth productivity for the month of May was 68.98 moves per hour which was an increase in comparison to the average berth productivity of 64.98 moves per hour in 2015-16.
