#Punjab poll results 2017: Congress ahead, AAP and SAD-BJP far behind

The Congress looked on course for a majority in Punjab, early counting trends indicated, bringing good new for birthday boy Capt Amarinder Singh who is the party’s chief minister candidate. The ruling Shiromani Akali Dal-BJP combine, whose rout was predicted in exit polls, was leading new entrant, the Aam Aadmi Party.
