Women’s day: Dip in cases of rape in Bengaluru, dowry is worse

As the world celebrates International women’s day the glaring reality of crimes against women in the country shows there is a long way to go to make our cities and villages safe for women. In Bengaluru city alone, the number of cases of crimes against women in 2016 stood at 2346 out of which 2170 cases were detected, according to police records.
